Dan Walker - Director, Culture (Operations & Planning)

Daniel Walker is Director, Culture (Operations & Planning) at King’s College London and has overall responsibility for the Culture directorate’s financial operations, procurement, planning, business operations, HR and legal functions and ensures the smooth and efficient running of the directorate.

Dan joined the Culture directorate – of which Science Gallery London is part - in May 2017 after eleven years in King’s Research Management & Innovation Directorate, most recently as the Head of the EU Research Funding Office since April 2011. In that role Dan led the university’s specialist team responsible for all bid development, contract, financial and alliance management aspects of King’s portfolio of European Commission funded research working extensively with research partners across Europe and the globe.

Before joining King’s Dan worked at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and in publishing at Palgrave Macmillan and Research Fortnight. A graduate of Queen Mary, University of London, in Hispanic Studies & Business Studies, Dan is qualified to PRINCE2 Practitioner level and is a certified mediator.
